We arrived at the track on the Saturday morning with the weather not looking too good. It rained on and off until about lunch. It left the track with a few soggy spots all through qualifying making tyre choice very difficult for everyone.

I was running in the Buggy Class with my new GRP 21 TUNED(#GGT01K-21BU) powering the new XRAY 808 (#XR350003) and in the Truggy class with the XRAY XT8 (#XR350200) also GRP powered. Both cars had Nosram Rx packs in place which were trouble free all weekend.



Mixed fortunes were the order of the day in Qualifying, round one put me 8th in the Buggy's and TQ in the Truggy's. In round 2 having not changed anything I slipped to 15th in the buggy's and 3rd in the Truggy's. For round three I wanted to shake things up a little and went for GRP Conspikes on the Buggy and a new set of XRAY's very own Thrax Tyres on the truggy. I managed to pull back to 12th and 2nd in the "B" final by the end of Buggy qualifying. Truggy faired much better with a respectable 3rd on the grid for the "A" final!



First up was the Buggy which after a good start I led from start to finish giving me a final win in it's very first outing the 808 performed perfectly. The A-Final was to come later in the day and after a dominant "B" final I was hoping to do well!

Next it was onto the Truggy A-final and after another good start I managed to get myself into second position which is were I stayed as I managed to hold on to it until the end of the race.

Then was the A-final for the Buggy's which was a more interesting race. After another good start from 11th on the grid I found myself running in 2nd after the first lap! As the raced progressed I was still in 2nd until an error put me in the catch fence and as the marshal was coming to help he slipped. As I crossed the loop at the end of the lap I discovered that I had dropped down to fifth place. With only very little time left on the clock, I tried hard but couldn't make up the positions I had lost.



So all in all I think a good first major meeting for myself with the XRAY/GRP/NOSRAM combination. I was also very impressed with the XRAY Thrax Truggy Tyres!
